Studio Vocal Processing for Non-Musicians (Ashlee Simpson inspired)

Theres a reason that all these "Disney Kids", "Soap Stars", and "Sisters of Famous People" keep making albums and they all sound so similar....

... anyone who's worked with Pitch Correctors and Harmonizers know how you can clean up a very weak vocalist and make them sound like a choir. If that's not unfair enough, you've got these over-processed studio recordings being passed off as "Live" recordings. [img]mad.gif[/img]

When it's a subtle tool used to layer on a good vocalist's track, it's a tool. When a non-singer is overproduced and a very fake-sounding, over-processed track is produced, it feels more and more like a scam.

The non-musicians out there don't understand what they are (and are not) hearing... It's a cruel fraud and it's cheapening music and the REAL MUSICIANS who work their ASSES off for years... only to be replaced by a pretty face and a big corporate marketing machine.
